Every person is a story to tell. We humans, we are strange creatures aren’t we? There’s not one individual even similar to you or your sister, mom, friend, and even thought sometimes it feels and seems like there’s someone out there just like you, we soon enough find out that’s not quite true. We come across many obstacles while being rational and emotional beings, mainly because our mind and our ”heart’s mind” quite often don’t find one common language. Often we ask ourselves what to do and who to listen. Those more rational ones will say ”I’m gonna listen to my brain, because it’s The Brain, period.” and those whose emotions are sometimes stronger will say ”Yes, the brain is the smart one, but it’s the heart that’s feeling empty when making the wrong decision, so when it pumps for something it’s gotta be that.” It’s a hard choice, every time we have to decide, no matter how small or insignificant the choice may be. When in doubt, we come to other people for help, we want their piece of heart and piece of mind to answer the questions not ment for them to answer. This also often leads to disasters because other people are not us. They don’t go to sleep with the same problems we are, they don’t know all the side lines of the problem, they don’t have to deal with the consequences. It’s our human nature to search the answers in all the wrong places. ”No one is you and that is your super power.” Other people can give you advice, but no one can answer questions for you, no one can tell you what’s right and what’s wrong for you even your closest ones because even thought they are your closest, they’re NOT YOU even thought their advice is golden and they sure do want what’s best for you, sometimes you just need to listen to your own advice. It’s you you’re gonna have to live with for the rest of your life, your decisions, your consequences and your wandering mind and your thirsty heart every time you wake up in the morning. You’re gonna have to work at that job or for that person, you’re gonna have to take care of that person you’re living with and drive that car you choose, go to that place and live there because you decided to. Not your friends, or your parents, or your therapist or professor. You and you alone. So don’t search for the answers in all the wrong places. Listen to others, but listen to yourself also and remember that the best teachers are ones who tell you where to look, but not what to find. And when it comes to the heart mind problem, well.. Egyptians believed that the heart is the organ that holds the mind and the soul of one individual all together and even thought all of the organs were removed while embalming, they left the heart inside. Isn’t there something in that? Until next time, sea of love, S.
